Small Business Website Design Built to Rank and Convert

Small business website design fails in three consistent ways: the site does not rank on Google for searches buyers actually use, it does not load fast enough on mobile to hold attention, and it gives visitors no clear reason to call. Fire and Cloud builds websites that fix all three.

What a Weak Website Is Costing You Right Now

A business with a slow, outdated, or hard-to-find website does not just look unprofessional. It actively costs revenue. Buyers who cannot find you search for a competitor. Buyers who land on a confusing page leave before calling.

  • Your website does not appear on Google when buyers in your area search for what you do
  • Pages load slowly on mobile and visitors leave before reading a single line
  • Visitors cannot figure out what you do, who you serve, or how to contact you within the first few seconds
  • Your contact form is buried, broken, or connected to an inbox no one checks
  • The site looks outdated and undercuts the quality of the actual work you do
  • Competitors with better websites are capturing buyers who should be finding you first
  • You have no way to measure whether the site is producing any leads at all

What Small Business Website Design at Fire and Cloud Includes

Every website Fire and Cloud builds is hand-coded in Astro, a modern static site framework. No WordPress, no page builders, no drag-and-drop themes. Each one is built to pass Google's Core Web Vitals benchmarks and give your business a real foundation in search.

  • Mobile-first design: so buyers on phones get a fast, usable experience, not a shrunken desktop layout
  • On-site SEO built into every page: keyword-targeted titles, headings, meta descriptions, and internal links incorporated from the first line of code, not added as an afterthought
  • AI search readiness: structured data, FAQ sections, and content written to surface in Google AI Overviews and answer-based results
  • Schema markup matched to each page type: so search engines understand exactly what each page is about
  • Contact forms on every service page: connected, tested, and confirmed working before launch
  • WebP images with lazy loading and explicit dimensions: so pages load fast without layout shifts
  • Google Analytics setup: so you can see what traffic the site is generating from day one

The result is a website a buyer can find, that loads before they lose patience, and that answers their questions before they pick up the phone.

Three Website Tiers for Every Stage of Growth

Every business is at a different stage. Fire and Cloud offers three fixed-price tiers so the investment matches where you are right now.

Ignite Online

From $1,000

1 page 2 to 3 weeks

A single, well-built page for a business that needs a professional online presence without a full site. Right for new businesses, specific lead campaigns, or owners testing a new service area before committing to a larger build.

Blaze the Market

From $4,500

12 pages 8 to 12 weeks

A full-coverage site with deeper content, Google Business Profile setup included, and one month of local SEO work built into the project. Right for businesses ready to compete for local search rankings from day one.

All three tiers include on-site SEO, AI search readiness, schema markup, contact forms, and Core Web Vitals compliance. Additional pages beyond your tier limit are $250 each. Hosting through Fire and Cloud is $30 per month or $300 per year. The Blaze the Market tier includes local SEO work and Google Business Profile setup.

How the Website Design Process Works

Discovery and Scope

We review your current site if one exists, identify your target buyers and the searches they use, confirm the pages you need, and agree on scope in writing before work begins.

Content and Structure

We map the page hierarchy and write the content with your primary keywords built in. You review and approve the content before we move to the build. Structure follows content, not the other way around.

Build and Review

Every page is hand-coded in Astro with clean HTML, scoped styles, schema markup, and performance-optimized images. You review a staging version before anything goes live.

Launch and Handoff

We launch the site, confirm tracking is live, submit the sitemap to Google, and walk you through what was built and how to keep it maintained.

Common Questions

Common Questions from Small Business Owners About Website Design

How long does it take to build a small business website?

Timeline depends on the tier. Ignite Online takes 2 to 3 weeks. Flame Authority takes 4 to 6 weeks. Blaze the Market takes 8 to 12 weeks. These timelines assume client feedback comes back within 48 to 72 hours at each review stage.

What is the difference between the three website design tiers?

The main difference is page count and scope. Every tier includes the same technical quality: on-site SEO, AI search readiness, schema markup, and Core Web Vitals compliance. Blaze the Market also includes Google Business Profile setup and one month of local SEO work.

Do you use WordPress or a page builder?

No. Every site is hand-coded in Astro. This produces faster load times, better security, and cleaner code than WordPress or any drag-and-drop builder. There is no plugin maintenance, no update vulnerabilities, and no bloated theme code running in the background.

Does the website include SEO?

Yes. On-site SEO is included in every tier: keyword-targeted titles and meta descriptions, heading structure, schema markup, internal linking, and content written to match buyer search intent. Off-site SEO covers citation building, link outreach, and ongoing rank improvement and is a separate monthly service.

Can I add more pages after the site launches?

Yes. Additional pages are $250 each regardless of your starting tier. If you need a significant expansion, a redesign package may be more cost-effective and we will tell you honestly which makes more sense before any work is agreed on.

Do you offer website hosting?

Yes, at $30 per month or $300 per year. Hosting is not included in the build price. If you have an existing hosting arrangement you want to keep, that works too.

What happens after the website launches?

Ongoing local SEO retainers and monthly maintenance arrangements are available. Blaze the Market clients have their first month of local SEO included in the project. Continuing after that is optional.

A Website That Brings in Leads Is the Foundation Everything Else Builds On

If your current site is not producing leads, ranking in local search, or giving buyers confidence when they land on it, every other investment in marketing starts at a disadvantage. That is the problem a well-built website solves.
